A) Management Information Systems is a discipline dedicated to filling the need for a bridge between the less technical (i.e., people with little background in computers) with those that are more technical (such as software developers, engineers, and hardware installers). MIS majors focus on helping organizations more effectively use their computer resources. Q) What are some of the core classes that are needed to fulfill and MIS major? A) Check out the MIS course page for an answer to this question. Q) What is the best way to go about getting an internship in an MIS related field? A) Your best route is to go to Luther's Career Center and talk with them about what companies are interviewing on campus, how to draw up a resume, and where and how to research the companies which you are interviewing with. Q) What are some of the companies that interview on campus or at least hire Luther students? A) Check out the MIS alumni

Further, MIS students cannot minor in CS (Likewise CS students can't minor in MIS). Q) What are some of the typical interests held in common by MIS majors? A) Computers, programming languages, working closely with people, a need for challenges, problem solving, and good written and spoken communication skills. Q) How much hands on experience should be expected during Luther Colleges MIS program? A) While most of the specific information that will be needed for a job
